Twas the night before game one of the N-L-C-S Every Cubs fan still stirring, from last night’s success. For their team had just done it, they woke up their bats, They had beaten ol’ Dusty, and vanquished the Nats.   It never looked pretty, but they never looked rattled, When down by three runs, they just battled and battled. Twas the night before Game One, of the N-L-D-S Every Cubs fan thought “repeat,” of last year’s success. The banners were hung by the scoreboard with care, In hopes that more banners, soon would be there.   The players were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of Cleveland still danced in their heads.
